Venrooy takes away credit pressure by accelerating its supplychain

13th July 2009

Working within the borders of your current account is not easy during recession. But it becomes a real challenge if you need to finance an additional growth of +42%. This was Venrooy's situation end 2008.

By implementing a more modular way of working, by outsourcing and by switching to new stockkeeping suppliers, Venrooy Cable Equipment reduced its time of manufacturing dramatically. One example: the time to produce 3 heavy VEN-P windingmachines was cut from 7 months to less than half.

The acceleration works out well. Clients choose more often for the speedier Venrooy, and Venrooy can manage its growing business within the old, smaller financial constraints.

Venrooy strengthens Engineering and invests in new 3D CAD system

23rd March 2009

With the appointment of two experienced Engineers and investment in "SolidWorks Professional", Venrooy has strengthened its Engineering department considerably.

Venrooy delivers strong cablehandling solutions: exceeding on functionality, modern designed, more durable. The recent investment in Engineering is completely aligned with that as the new CAD system leads to faster and more efficient working, and prevents costly mistakes in technical design. Managed by experienced Engineers it will prevent unneccesary cost and will lead to faster launches of better products. This is in the interest of all Venrooy's clients.

The investment in the Engineering department must be recognised as an important next steppingstone towards Venrooy achieving a top3 position in Europe.

Venrooy doubles order intake in challenging economic times

20th October 2008

Venrooy Cable Equipment doubled its order intake in a period in which the (Dutch)
industry shows declining order intakes already for 6 months in a row. During past 12
months, Venrooy’s turnover already grew by 40%.

Since the takeover in June 2006, the new owners professionalised the company
dramatically as to achieve a top-3 position in the European market for cable equipment.
Both product innovation, a radically improved supplychain and an aggressive marketing- and sales strategy have been and will stay important components for growth. During this period, sales in cable drum carriers fivefolded. Also sales of heavy winding machines to e.g. the Energy and Maritime markets have grown significantly.

Venrooy increases turnover by 37%

27th May 2008

In the twelve months after its launch of the new LTV-R drum carrier series on 27th May last year, Venrooy Cable Equipment increased its turnover bookings by 37%; this compared to the 12 months before.

Successful product launches, new clients

Drivers of this increase are the very successful launches of the LTV-R and ZW-R drum carriers, as well as the growing number of (international) clients for its VEN-P/L/S/E winding machines, particularly in the Building-, Electro- and Maritime sectors.

From traditional manufacturing to supply-chaining and assembly

The vast growth did not lead to increased delivery times, as Venrooy changed its supply-chain dramatically : coming from being a traditional manufacturing company, Venrooy is rapidly changing into a supply-chaining company maintaining the best mix between selfmanufacturing and assembly. Since its takeover mid 2006, close cooperation was established with professional suppliers of modules and components, having reduced throughput time considerably. Venrooy's focus in this process lies on :

- Owning best knowledge on and development of the smartest products and solutions
- Managing the supply-chain : selecting best in class suppliers, and controlling the best mix between selfmanufacturing and assembly inhouse
- Collecting the best knowledge about clients' demands, and translating this into strong, tangible products

In the growthmode

Since its takeover in June 2006, Venrooy Cable Equipment is in the growth mode. The recent vast turnover growth provides the evidence that the company's growth strategy works as planned.

Many national and international companies have meanwhile chosen for the new model. Since its introduction hundreds of interested companies received quotes and are currently evaluating buying one of the 8 models under the series.

Responsible for the success is the combination of strong user advantages (faster, easier, safer working) and its unique modern looks fitting with the modern image companies wish to show to their markets.

Already shortly after introduction, the new LTV-R range showed to be a big hit. Venrooy is very pleased with the growing attention for the drum trailer.

New drumcarriers for Jos van der Lubbe

For Jos van der Lubbe BV we produced 3 drum carriers type ZWV-850.

RDW certified:
The Dutch regulations for speedway traffic have changed significantly in the last few years.
Drumcarriers with a carrying capacity of 3,5 tons need to be equipped with an air breaking system with ABS. Also very strict regulations for push beam constructions and a seperate inspection for the triangle are in place.

Hydraulic re-reeling machine:
Every drum carrier is equipped with a hydraulic re-reeling machine with Hatz diezel Silentpack, where drums can be winded and unwinded. It is very unique to have a re reeling machine on every carrier having many logistic advantages.

Rear bridge: The rear bridge of these carriers open upwards. This brings many advantages when placing the drum, also reducing the total length of the combination by 2 metres.

Some specifications:
- equipped with re-reeling machine with Hatz diesel silent pack
- carrying capacity 8,5 tons
- double working lifting cilinders
- remote control at the back of the machine
- auxiliary bows for smaller drums

Unique is the compact construction of the drum carrier: despite the big loading width of 2 metres, the outside width is limited to only 3 metres, by which it is allowed to drive on the Corus site without special transport permission.
Some specifications:
- carrying capacity 18 ton gross; nett 14 ton
- maximum roll dimensions: Ø 2.600 mm and a width of 1.900 mm
- stepless speed regulation of 0-4 rpm.

Winding machine + drums for Dynema cable

For Smit Salvage we constructed two special VEN-S machines, for offshore use, equipped with a compact diesel hydraulic drive. On the VEN-S machines, drums are clamped thus drum axles are not required. Viewing air freight transport, the machines are constructed on a very compact way, are built low and can be lifted and moved by forklift sleeves and hoisting eyes.
