Break cable

If a maximum pulling force is prescribed for a cable pull - and the winch has no pulling force registration - then this maximum can be guaranteed by means of a break cable. This cable breaks at (or just before) the moment that the maximum pulling force is reached. A break cable is always used in combination with a safety cable that ensures that the cables do not slip away when the break cable is broken. Break cables are available with tensile strengths from 100 to 3.600 kilos. The catch rope has a pulling force of 4.000 kilos.
